Sushant Mehta

Mr. Sushant Mehta is based out of Charlotte, North Carolina and employed at Bank of America as an Application Programming Consultant for the Fraud and Risk Mitigation team in the Payments Fraud Detection area.

Sushant has a Bachelors in Engineering with a concentration on Electronics and Communications from the University of Rajasthan, India and a Masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Mr. Mehta has been involved with NAAAP Charlotte since 2011. He was initially the Director of Corporate Relations and has recently assumed the position of VP of Operations. In addition to NAAAP, Sushant serves as Charlotte Chapter chair for Bank of America's Asian Leadership Network and a member of the Bank of America Disability Network Group.




Melissa Rood

Melissa Rood is a Master of Business Administration, Master of Accounting candidate, and graduate assistant at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC). She completed her undergraduate work at Winthrop University obtaining a bachelor's degree in visual arts and a Spanish minor. She has studied abroad in Italy, Spain, and taught English in Suwon, South Korea.

In addition to NAAAP, Ms. Rood is a member of the World Affairs Council of Charlotte, a coordinator for Youth for Understanding, and the Graduate Business Association of UNCC. She organizes and leads introduction, mid-year, and pre-departure orientations for American high school students studying abroad and for foreign students studying in Charlotte. In 2013, she interned with Charlotte International Cabinet and assisted in organizing the Mayor’s International Community Awards.

Melissa enjoys listening to NPR, kayaking, and painting.

Xinxin Liu is an Analytic Consultant for Global Alternative Investments (GAI), a division of Wells Fargo Investment Institute. GAI manages proprietary and non‐proprietary alternative investment products and services—including option strategies, hedge funds, managed futures, commodities, private equity, and private real estate offerings—that complement traditional investment portfolios. In her current role, Ms. Liu focuses on quantitative research and risk management. She also manages GAI’s hedge fund transparency data and consults on process improvements. Prior to joining Wells Fargo & Company in 2011, she held various web development and database technology positions.

Xinxin earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and her Masters of Science in Information Technologies and Management University of North Carolina at Greensboro.  She is a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) by Global Association of Risk Professionals.

Xinxin has been serving in the NAAAP Charlotte leadership team for over 4 years, including 2 years as chapter president (2014.8 - 2016.8) as well as Director of recruitment and VP of membership previously.

 





Ron Beltran

Ron Beltran is a Sr. Data Architect at Snyder’s-Lance, Inc.  He has been with the company for 18+ years with various roles and positions like Sr. System Analyst, Project Manager, and Application Development Manager. Prior to that, he worked in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for 5+ years.

Ron has a degree in Bachelors Science with a concentration on Electrical Engineering from the Technological Institute of the Philippines and a Project Management Certificate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC).

Aside from NAAAP, Ron has served as an officer with the Filipino-American Community of the Carolinas (FACC). He volunteers to Knights of Columbus and Carolinas Asian American Chamber of Commerce. He also volunteers as Technical Consultant at Eskuwelahang Munti (Little School - teaching Tagalog language and culture to young Filipinos).

Min Jiang

Min Jiang is an Associate Professor of Communication at UNC Charlotte and an Affiliate Researcher at the Center for Global Communication Studies, University of Pennsylvania. Shereceived her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Beijing Foreign Studies University and her Ph.D. from Purdue University.

Her research focuses on Chinese Internet technologies, politics, and policies. She has published more than 20 journal articles and book chapters, and has received funding from and presented her work at various institutions including Social Science Research Council, National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, Oxford University, Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, Johns Hopkins University and the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI).Reuters,Foreign Policy, New Scientist, andAl Jazeera Englishamong other media outlets have interviewed her.

Prior to pursing her doctor’s degree in the U.S., she worked atChina Central TelevisionandKill Bill I in her native country China.

David is a Vice President in Card Core Platform Program leading the Consumer Card Credit workstream supporting the Integration of all consumer credit card lending processes and systems integrating to the TS2 platform. Previous to this role, David lead a team of project managers, production support and testing execution staff supporting the Credit Technology organization for project related changes and production support efforts overseeing applications supporting Credit Acquisition and Existing Credit Maintenance.

David joined MBNA in 1994 and has held management positions supporting many of the call center servicing organizations including TeleSales, Direct Promotions, Customer Service, Non-Fraud Claims, Credit and Insurance Services before moving into Project Management roles supporting Customer Service and Credit since 1999.

David is supporting the Asian Leadership Network on the National Leadership team as a Senior Advisor and has held previous roles including Enterprise Co-Chair as well as Chapter Co-Chair for both the Charlotte and Delaware chapters.





Andrea Lee

Andrea Lee was born in San Antonio, Texas, and reared in Smithfield, a small town in Eastern North Carolina. A BA in Art from East Carolina University led to a successful career in Commercial & Residential Design; followed by career changing paths which have included decades of work with the Asian Communities in Charlotte, NC.From 1998 – 2010, Andrea served as the Executive, & Public Relations Director for the CPA office of Ki-Hyun Chun, Chun Group, Inc, and the Managing Director, Editor, and Columnist for The Asian Herald.In June 1999, the Carolinas Asian-American Chamber of Commerce (CAACC) was started, and she was ‘key’ in bringing Asian ethnicities under this “umbrella.”She organized the first Asian Festival in 2000, which is still growing and continues to be held each year in May.

In 2010, another change led Andrea to Lwin Family Companies (dba Hissho Sushi) headquartered in Charlotte, where she handles Corporate Communications; and is an internal member of the Core Values, and Hissho Foundation committees.Started in 1998, Hissho now offers sushi in over 800 locations in 40 states as of this writing.

She continues to be active in the Community:Public Relations Officer & Board Member for CAACC; Advisory Board Member of the Charlotte Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and NAAAP (National Association of Asian American Professionals); Board Member of the Confucius Institute at Pfeiffer University of Charlotte; Writer at Large for the Asian Herald; graduate of: the FBI Citizens Academy; Dan Starks Training Institute; Leadership Charlotte – Class XXVII; received the Community Volunteerism Award from “Life in Charlotte” in December 2008; volunteers at Taste of the World, Charlotte Rescue Mission, Classroom Central and CAACC projects; is a member of WIE (Women’s intercultural Exchange), Charlotte World Affairs Council, NAPW, Inc (National Association of Professional Women); a member of the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce and BBB via Hissho Sushi; is a Board Member of KDI Inc; is a Lifetime NRA Member; and in January 2013 was inducted as a Lifetime Member into the International Federation of the Knights of Malta, specifically the Sovereign Order of Cyprus “Knights of Sword and Silence” as “Lady Andrea Jayne Lee;” and in May 2014 received the Dr. Jian Dong Memorial Award for outstanding community service.

“Above all she is an advocate for fairness, strives to right injustices, and a voice for those who can’t or won’t speak for themselves.”

Mr. Edward Yang is currently a Senior Vice President with Bank of America and loves applying his Six Sigma Black Belt skills to solving business challenges.

While pursuing his Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Mr. Yang helped establish the NC State Asian Students Association in it it's inaugural year and ultimately served as President. Mr. Yang served on the leadership diversity team at the Vanguard Group of Investment companies, founded the Charlotte Bank of America Asian Leadership Network in its inaugural year and served as its President.

Mr. Yang was elected as the NAAAP National President and led the organization to greater heights until the completion of his term.
